Discover Aure Chemical's Premium Industrial Aluminum Sulfate Supply
Industrial Grade Aluminum Sulfate is an inorganic chemical compound with the molecular formula AL₂(SO₄)₃·xH₂O. The molecular weight of the anhydrous form is 342.15. It appears as a light yellow or light green flake or powder in its solid form, and a light yellow or light green transparent liquid.
Its specific gravity is 1.69. The product is soluble in water, acid, and alkali, but insoluble in alcohol. An aqueous solution is acidic and has a characteristic acidic and astringent flavor. It can easily absorb moisture and agglomerate, with a dehydration temperature of 86.5°C. When heated to 530°C, it begins to decompose, with the final decomposition product being r-Al₂O₃ at 860°C.

Applications of Industrial Aluminum Sulfate
Industrial Aluminum Sulfate is a versatile product with a wide range of uses, particularly where the presence of iron impurities is not an issue. Its primary applications include:
Water and Wastewater Treatment: Used as an effective flocculant to remove suspended solids, improve water clarity, and remove phosphorus from industrial and wastewater. It causes suspended impurities to coagulate into larger particles that can be more easily filtered out.
Paper Manufacturing: It is widely used as a paper sizing agent, which helps improve the paper's strength, water resistance, and ink receptivity.
Other Industrial Uses: It is a valuable material in the production of artificial gems and other aluminum salts like ammonium alum and potash alum. Ferric aluminum sulphate is also used as a clarifier, deodorant, and decolorant for oil, a concrete waterproofing agent, in the processing of titanium dioxide, and as a catalyst carrier. It can also be found in firefighting foams.
